I wanted to share our wedding images with those who are interested, but did not feel they were really “part” of the blog. So I am placing them on a separate page for those interested to view if they wish.
I can honestly say that I really loved this dress – and I am ever thankful for the wonderful assistant at Wedding Box, Tygervalley who walked into the back room and picked it out for me. I had been picking the same dresses all the time, and they were really “me” but really more suited to the bridesmaid.
I loved the dress, and the detail on it was exquisite, sure I would have liked to lose 10 odd kilograms before I squeezed my bulk in to it, but I still really loved this dress.
Shoes for a sunny day ….
Shoes for a rainy day …
My gorgeous friend, and happy helper Joyce who not only poured the champagne, but brought the bottle too – got to love a girl who readily supplied alcohol at the right time.
No one looks good in curlers, no matter what they say … one should never wear them out.
Georgia was with me when I was getting ready – she was such an excitable princess, and wanted nothing more than to have “make-up” done.
I used Cindy Horton who came out and did my hair and makeup – the brilliant thing about her is that she comes to you and she does hair and makeup. I had not seen any one else who did both – and did them so well. She was brilliant and she really did a great job – it was great that she was able to pick up while chatting to me what would work for me, and then just got on with it.
I don’t usually wear any makeup, so even though she had done her stuff, I did not feel it was layered on and uncomfortable.
She can be reached on Cindy Horton [horton.cindy@gmail.com] – 072 755 7861.
Initially I was not going to have flowers – initially I was not going to have a wedding dress either, but things change. I was a little/very shocked at how expensive flowers were and then started trying to think of another plan. Joyce recommended I use Moondrops – moondrops@polka.co.za – Tel 021 939 4672 . I dealt with Marina and she was brilliant.
I know nothing about flowers, but I showed her some images and she worked out the bouquet and the table arrangements. I love blues and purples, so they designed something around that – it also did not totally break the bank, and they arranged to deliver it personally on the day. They were really great to work with – would use them again for anything.
It was simple – like me – absolutely loved the arrangement and that they got lavender in there – there was not a turned leaf in sight, no bulking up with green stuff – I was really happy. The arrangement also lasted nearly two weeks.
Kennith got ready at home. Connor was there with him, and so was Isabelle. Pepe helped get Isabelle ready, and Pepe came through with Isabelle.
Connor was just going to wear black pants and a button up shirt, but he then decided he wanted a tie and a waist-coat, and he really looked very smart. He was so proud that he got to be the “holder of the rings” and help his dad out.
Poor Kennith – he was hoping for a simple wedding, next thing he is standing there in a three piece suit with a cravat and cuff links – he really was a good sport, when inside he was probably screaming …
Sweet Isabelle getting ready with Pepe …
Time to get into said dress ….
Quick makeup touch up …..
Princess Georgia .. having her makeup and hair done.
Initially we were going to have dresses made for the girls, which we did, but the quality was so shocking that they were unusable. Week before, we went to Woolworths and bought super little dresses, the jersey, stockings, leggings (so no one sees any panties) and shoes. It really was a very cost effective method, and the girls looked very sweet.
Okay here are some of me. I was totally stressed at this point, and really unable to smile. I was fine until we did a time check and then I realised we had about 30 – 40 minutes and then I pooped a little in my knickers.
This is an actual smile, before the strained smiles started…
Absolutely loved this bouquet …
Probably my favourite photo – there is always one that you like yourself in …. it’s this one for me. (this by the way is me attempting to smile…. really trying … but brain and face not talking to each other as the voices in my head were really starting to pick up the volume about here.)
And at this p0int we get into car and start making our way to the chapel – if I thought I was having a little freak out now, you should have seen me when we got to the chapel and I was attempting to get out of the car – total melt down.

These are beautiful – and Joyce is looking absolutely stunning – please give her my love and very best wishes!
I could spend an entire day kissing each of Connor’s freckles.. they are so precious.
Hey LM
What a coincidence that we meet again in blog land! Glad to hear that you and T are doing well! J-xxx
Hi Celeste, Kenneth and family
I am so happy for you guys. The expressions on your faces show how truly happy you are as a family.
Celeste, I cannot find the words to say how beautiful you looked – Kenneth, must feel so proud to have you as a wife – we all know that your beauty is more that on the surface. Kenneth and Connor – strapping is all that I can say. Georgia, wow – she is truly a beautiful little girl. Isabella, I am sorry that I have not had the oppurtunity to meet her.
My thoughts are often of you all – believe it or not _ I miss you guys.
Better late than never – lots of hugs to you all.
Felicity:>
You looked LOVELY on your wedding day.
I especially love the wedding gown. =D
Thank you, I am not really a girly-girl, but I did like the bit of fluff and puff on the day.
Hello,
Came across your blog and just wanted to drop a line to say “howdy” and that I just loved reading your blog..so open and real. Keep writing and know that you do touch and help others with issues or not. I just had to see your pics after reading a few pages of your blog to connect the you and your family to your words..great stuff..keep writing.
Esperanza
Thanks so much for stopping by – it is funny how you initially just blog for yourself, and then at some point you realise that you are connecting with other people who share the same issues you do, and that is surprising very rewarding and makes you feel that maybe today you can do without the anti-depressants, because maybe what you feel is normal …. thanks for stopping by.
Oh you looked stellar! Just beautiful
My expression in my wedding photos was exactly the same. My MIL says I look pensive. I think that’s a nice way of putting it. See my fb album.
You looked absolutely gorgeous Celeste. Really. Not just saying that.
And you’re right Georgia is going to be a heartbreaker. Huge beautiful brown eyes. Kennith is going to have to keep an eye on the boys around her!
Wow you looked really stunning and Georgia is also a real stunner!
Georgia is going to be a heart breaker – she presently has her father so whipped it is frightening.

WOW! My friend you were a beautiful, beautiful bride! Your children looked precious and handsome egg also looked stunning. Well done girl. If these are only a few pics I can only imagine how gorgeous your album is going to be. Proud of you man!! I hope you have many, many years of wedded bliss.
Beautiful! xx
Hi Celeste – you looked gorgeous! And the kids oh how adorable! Congrats again. Hmm only thing missing is a Stffordshire bullterrier with a ribbon around the neck!
When we spoke about possibly maybe getting married back way back then, we did picture our Willie at our wedding!! But well kids came along and then sadly dogs moved out of first place. If we had Annabelle there, she would have made a straight b-line for the cake and skipped past everything else.
Awwwhh! Like Celeste says… You’re a good egg!
Celeste, you were an exquisite bride!
Kennith is a good egg!
