I waxed lyrically yesterday as to how how I am in love with my ring … and promised to post some images, so here they are …
The main stone belonged to my gran who died in 1994 – she was my last grandparent.
When I was very young, I recall being at her house and she put all her rings on the kitchen table and asked me if she died which one would I like to have. I was really small, so I was more interested in drinking my sweet milky tea and eating a slice of cake to be too worried about jewellery issues (few things have changed since then).
Fortunately I had the good sense to choose a simple ring, but with a healthy sized diamond (bless her).
So Kennith and I chose a ring design and then used the original stone from my gran’s ring. So even though the design is “all about me” it has a bit of a heritage in it, which makes it even more special.
I really love this ring.

/ June 27, 2010pmsl @ you! about staring at your gorgeous ring and then noticing the wrinkles etc on your hands….just yesterday I was looking at my (less gorgeous than yours) ring and thinking that my skin elasticity is less than stellar and when teh F*** did that happen?

/ June 27, 2010Exactly – I also came to the frightening realisation that I need to wax my knuckles as it appears I have tufts of hair on them … when exactly did I become a character from middle earth …. all too disturbing ….

/ June 24, 2010It is a bit of the getting started on a blog that is tricky. You kind of need to sit there and think of “where to begin” – it does get easier the more you blog, and eventually it sort of takes on a life of it’s own.
I read what I blogged a year ago, and I can see I am in a totally different head space than when I blog now. I have worked through some of my issues – some – and I look at things differently, writing this blog has definitely helped me a great deal. But it is a bit of where you are standing staring at a mountain and wondering “where the hell do I start?”

/ June 24, 2010So true RM…. well im still in the thinking stage of this whole blogging thing and wondering if it is a thing for me….
one thing that i keep questioning is, how much do you say and what shouldn’t you let out? How much should you really tell on a blog? A blog can leave you quite exposed to pretty much anyone and i dont think that i am quite comfortable with with ‘unknown’ persons knowing too much. LOL maybe im over thinking things… I guess this is where i have to decide on my overall writing theme of my blog (that’s if i even decide to start writing)… sigh

/ June 24, 2010I do sort of find myself just staring at my hand …. and then noticing the wrinkles and that I appear to have tufts of hair on my fingers …. clearly that will need to be waxed off!!!!
