Real American Beauty ….

Sadly this image is a bit close to home.  You know how you grab sizes and go the changing room, and then you can barely pull the items over your thighs and you reliase that clearly you are about 2 sizes bigger than you took off the clothing racks.

This picture irks me, not everyone that overconsumes (products, not just food) is fat. Not all fat people over consume. The problem is not with your curves and your body, but with perceptions of what is acceptable of beauty and what health “looks like”. The amount of sitting we do (at least in my part of the globe) is what is detrimental to our health, not the plus sized bodies.

Which doesn’t have a whole lot to do with your post, the picture just irked me enough to go on a tirade. I recently had to go maternity shopping, these clothes were made for sticks with bumps in the middle (no hate on the skinny ladies), I have to browse plus, which in itself isn’t bad. The selection is just usually piss poor.

  2. You dont like emoticons? I never knew that!!!

I dont go shopping!! D’s mom has started buying me clothes (dont ask) – it works well – I can try them on at home and then go and change them for food or something else more useful!

not too bad. very rubenesque. 400 years ago she would have been rather sort after. I can’t help thinking that her back is being cut to shreds by all the pulled uptabs on the cans!
